Service for Others

Serving others is an integral part of our mission and guides students to understand the importance of giving back. Throughout the year, all students participate in collection drives for various charities in the Silicon Valley, create thoughtful cards to show their gratitude, and engage in school-wide service days.

Junior High Service Projects

Jr. High students take on two service projects each year and spend over 1,850 hours in our community giving back. The project is designed to teach students to seek out ways to serve others, instilling that giving back to your community is a values-based way of life. Each student chooses a service project that they feel most passionate about. A few examples of charities/organizations our Jr. High students serve are: Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, library volunteers,  convalescent homes, and many more!

Our Lightning Community-Building Programs

Family Groups

Our Family Group program brings together students from Kinder through 8th Grade. Each “family” consists of one student from each grade, with the 8th grader taking the lead. Family Groups meet monthly to work on a service project or participate in an activity and discussion centered around our school year theme.

The Family Group program provides an opportunity for students across our campus to get to know each other, while also letting 8th grade students take on a leadership role.

Buddy Program

Our buddy program is another great way for our students to connect! Elementary school students are paired up and meet monthly to spend time together. From reading on the lawn on a sunny day to visiting the book fair together, these student-to-student bonds are always a delight to see flourish.

What Eighth Graders are Saying About Family Groups

Family Groups show a unity between all of the grades at St. Lucy, from Kinder to 8th Grade.

Natalie H.

I have looked forward to it because I always saw my leader as a role model, and I am excited to be a role model this year.

Jameson O.

It really shows the connection we all have as God’s children.

Makayla O.

My favorite part of being a Family Group leader is spending time with kids and sharing smiles and laughter, while also learning more about our faith.

Phoebe C.

Family Groups are an important part of being a St. Lucy student because it shows us coming together like Jesus wants.

Connor W.

My favorite part is that I get to be a role model for them, as it helps practice and demonstrate good communication towards others.

David B.

I look forward to the uplifting conversations my Family Group and I have.

St. Lucy Parish

We are blessed to be part of a vibrant parish community! Since 1914, St. Lucy has been a part of the Campbell community, but it wasn’t until September 1947 that St. Lucy became a parish.

Our school community gathers to celebrate Mass together on Sundays and on the first Wednesday of each month. Once a month, a grade hosts a 9:00am Family Mass, followed by a donut serve. The Parish Activity Center hosts retreats, parent workshops, and special events throughout the year. Many of our alumni and current school families are active in our parish.
